Sadly, our treasurer, Hugh Toller, passed away in October after a long illness. His contribution to research into Roman roads over the last 30 years is unequalled, and he will be greatly missed. This position is currently vacant.

Mike is a professional equestrian artist and an independent archaeologist. In recent years his research has focused on the Roman roads network in Yorkshire, with particular emphasis on the network’s early development and planning.

Apart from his day job as Historic Environment Intelligence Foresight Co-ordinator for English Heritage, Pete is currently the Honorary Secretary of the Royal Archaeological Institute and a Roman-period specialist of some 30 years standing.
